The bitter-sweet feeling of change applies perfectly to moving out of my 4.5 year home. Friendships have never been stronger and weaker, love has never been so concrete yet so uncertain, goals have never been so important but at the same time forgotten … “Adulting” the act of thinking life is exactly what you want but then one day comes along and exactly what you wanted couldn’t be farther from what it is.
Change is important. Nothing in nature stays the same and even though people try to feel above nature, when it comes down to it, that’s exactly what we are. Constantly evolving, changing and seeking what it is we are meant to do during our time here if we want to or not.
I don’t think growing up ever stops. We are born as a blank canvas and life never changes our canvas it just continues to paint new pictures but the old pictures are always there. Each person has a whole slew of paintings that make up his and her canvas and it never stops. But we never lose those layers, they stay with us to help create the textures and backdrop for the new images to come.
“Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different.” C.S. Lewis
